Network marketing has really helped lots of online marketing in expanding their market and improving their social relationships. This type of marketing has been part of the business world for years. It has taken a big leap due to the advancement of technology.

Today, experienced network marketers know the importance of online networking in keeping the business alive and productive. In this article, let’s take a closer look at online networking.

What is online networking?

To make it simple, establishing business relationships online is what online networking is all about. Just like with conventional network marketing methods, the goal of online networking is to win the trust of people, to encourage others to become part of the network, and to be recognized by the community.

Online networking is also about building a support system for all members of the networking business. The only difference is that all interactions with online networking are done over the web or through the internet.

Why is online networking effective?

What is the greatest and most obvious advantage of online marketing over traditional networking strategies? The answer is, you can do it regardless of where you are. Network marketing is a type of a home based business that is primarily conducted from home. By being connected to the internet, a home based entrepreneur can freely reach out to his or her prospects as well as fellow members of the network.

How can you gain more from online networking?

A lot of people are interested in venturing into a new business, particularly if the business has an obvious potential or profitability. Nevertheless, not everyone is knowledgeable or has experience in running his own business. In fact, many aspiring entrepreneurs think that they don’t have what it takes to become successful.

As a network marketer seeking downlines or prospective team members, it is your responsibility to show potential clients not only how they can benefit from the business but that it can be done and that it doesn’t have to be very complicated.

You can use your website to teach prospective clients everything they need to know about the business. Sharing your own personal experiences, back when you were still a newbie until now can also help in letting others realize the potential of joining the business. More importantly, you can use your business website to provide assistance to those who are already members of your network. How?

Discussing technical issues such as how to build a web site, how to design a web site more effective, how to attract more traffic, etc. are practical guides that would definitely enhance your team member’s marketing performance. This would also build up their confidence about the technical aspects of the business.

Encouraging camaraderie online will also make a big difference. Members of your network should feel free to express their thoughts, questions, suggestions, experiences and ideas to the group. If members of the network sees that there is a reliable online support whenever they need it, they would surely be more confident and productive members of your networking business.

I’m lazy by nature and like to do as little work as possible. Therefore, when I have the opportunity to automate tasks, I jump at it. As I started getting heavily involved in social networking, I quickly became frustrated with having to update my status at several sites, as well as trying to figure out how to introduce my blog, my articles, and my ezine to my social networking audiences.

After much trial and error, here’s how I connect and repurpose all of my social marketing strategies:

1. Set up accounts. Make sure that you have current accounts with Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, MySpace, and any other social networking platforms you regularly use.

2. Open an account at Ping.fm. The Ping.fm service automatically updates your status on all of your social networking sites, 21 of them at the current count. Depending on the number of networks you use, it will take you 10-50 minutes to connect your Ping.fm account to your various social network accounts. However, once everything is set up, you simply log into your Ping account, post your status update (no more than 140 characters), and your status is automatically updated on all of your social networking profiles. Rather than posting updates directly on Twitter or Facebook or MySpace, I instead use Ping.fm as the starting place for my daily status updates.

3. Display Twitters on other accounts. If you go to your Setting tab in your Twitter account and then down to “More Info URL”, you will see a link to “Add Twitter to Your Site.” By clicking on this link, you’ll be taken to a page where you can add your tweets in a separate box (not the Status updates area) in your MySpace and Facebook profiles, on your blogger or Typepad blogs, or get the Flash or HTML widgets to add to other sites like Squidoo lenses or to your website. Just follow the instructions connected to each application. If you use Typepad for your blog, you can also do this through the Widget gallery by finding Twitter widget in the “Publishing Tools” section.

4. Connect your blogposts to Twitter. Twitter Feed, http://www.twitterfeed.com/, enables you to feed your blog posts to your Twitter account. Simply create an account, go to “Create New Twitter Feed”, and enter the RSS feed of your blog. You can control the frequency with which Twitter displays your blog post, as well as the text used to preface your blog feed. I use “Blog update” to preface my posts.

5. Connect your blogposts to Facebook. I use Typepad for my blogs, so if you use a WordPress blog, there are probably plugins that handle this, as well. When you create a new blog post, you can choose to send a link to that post into Facebook. These links will appear in your Mini-Feed on your Facebook profile, and may appear in your friends’ News Feeds.

In your Typepad account, go to Weblogs > Configure > Publicity, select “Prompt me to share new posts on Facebook.” When this item is selected, TypePad will automatically display a prompt from Facebook when you create and publish a new post on TypePad. The Facebook prompt will only appear if you have selected the option in your weblog’s publicity settings, and only when you create and publish a new post. The prompt will not appear when you save a post as draft, when you edit a post, or when you change the status of a post from Draft to Published.

6. Update your EzineArticles.com account. Article marketing is a smart and easy way to drive traffic to your site. If you’re submitting articles online to article directories, you definitely want to be using EzineArticles.com, the biggest and most popular article directory online. To connect to Twitter, click on “Profile Manager” in your account, then “Edit Author Bio” in your Author’s Area. Add your Twitter account information here. Each time a new article is accepted and published at EzineArticles, a post is automatically made to your Twitter account.

7. Update your aWeber account: I use aWeber as my email marketing service. You can now send an automatic Twitter post to all your followers on Twitter with a link to the HTML version of your ezine. When you create a broadcast in aWeber, select the option to publish a broadcast via RSS feed or to an archive, and then enter your Twitter account info, When your ezine is published, all of your Twitter followers will be notified.

There are probably others ways to connect the social networks and to repurpose content on social networks, but these 7 steps are all I need at the moment. Take 30 minutes out of your day to connect and repurpose your social networking, and watch your traffic and list begin to grow!

Network marketing or MLM is an excellent strategy to build long-term residual income. Residual income is generated by the ongoing sales to loyal customers in your network marketing organization. Therefore, the key to generating residual income is to build a large base of satisfied customers. Here are the five most important keys to achieving this goal.

1. Lead Capture Page

The purpose of capturing the name and email address of your leads is to build a relationship with these prospects. Make your lead capture page’s headline powerful. Each headline should attract your readers to want to know more and why they should subscribe to ‘earn money fast online ‘ list. Bullet point what you will offer. You may also want to give out a free report that will compel them to subscribe.

2. Auto Follow Up System

Imagine if your business comes to a point where you are generating 1,000s of leads per day! You would not be able to follow up with each one of them on your own. So what you would need is an auto responder that will automatically follow up with your prospects.

3. Find a company with a deep and wide compensation plan

For residual income, you want to be able to build a deep downline. The best compensation plan for residual income is one that gives you increasing commission on at least 5 levels. You also want to be able to build it as wide as you like to accommodate a large base of retail customers.

4. Lifelong Traffic

There are many ways to drive traffic to your lead capture page. However I always advise network marketers to spend time on traffic methods that will continue to generate itself for many years to come. One of this lifelong traffic method is article marketing. Try to write and submit at least 5 articles per week. Each article should be of 300-600 words length. By submitting articles consistently, you will generate as many as 100 leads per day and you will be generating a fruitful MLM residual income in just a matter of months.

5. Add retail customers by marketing your products

Don’t lead with your business opportunity, because chances are you don’t have on yet. Instead, learn how to market your product to the right target market. This is actually much easier than recruiting and keeping new distributors. Once you have acquired that skill, and developed marketing tools for your product, you are now in a great position to transition from retail to residual income.

Surviving in this business is tough for many. However don’t give up and just be determined. Start implementing the three steps above and you’re already on your way to your freedom ticket with a rewarding MLM residual income paycheck. Just keep thinking and visualizing about what freedom would be like with true automated wealth

Let’s face it, it’s challenging to absorb the ‘know how’ and pros of social networking sites without feeling overwhelmed and getting everything in a systematic fashion.

And yes, for a strategic social marketing plan of action, a ‘social system’ is essential for your sanity.

Here are 10 pros of social networking sites with a few excellent resources attached:

1. Facebook

The granddaddy of them all. According to Alexa rankings, Facebook is the 5th most popluar site in the world today.

Facebook is the perfect place to develop relationships online and now boast with more than a 100 million users online.

Unfortunately, to many marketers have adopted their tacky ‘MySpace Mentality’ in Facebook by pasting endless links on your profile wall.

This is enough to make anyone cringe.

Lots of potential for marketing, if you are prepared to build relationships first.

Best Resource will be Mari Smith, relationship and buzz marketing specialist. You will find plenty of golden nuggets on her fan page which can be found by doing a search on Facebook.

2. Squidoo

There’s been plenty of debates whether Seth Godin’s (the king of marketing in my honest opinion) collection of half a million pages still delivers quality traffic after a not so recent Google Slap.

But, like Seth mentions, Google is famous for rewarding pages that are worth while, so if you Squidoo lens provides quality content, Squidoo has endless benefits for your web presence.

Check out Rena Klingenberg’s Squidoo Traffic Power lens for great tips and resources.

3. Hubpages

Hubpages are relatively the same as Squidoo. Instead of a lens, you build a hub. Hubs with blatant affiliate promotions will not get approved.

Only original, relevant content will cut it.

You will find plenty of excellent ‘how to’ hubs on hubpages itself which will help you get started.

4. StumbleUpon
